This reconstruction corresponds in its essence to what an Assyrian palace chamber might have looked like, even it its components originate from a number of different periods and sites. The windowless apartments got their light solely through the doors. The two colossal figures at the entry - called in Assyrian schedulamassu - are human headed, winged lions with horned crowns as a symbol of divinity.
