Ford International Fellowship Award for Ireland. In the Constitution Room of the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin, 26 year old Sligo born Mr Patrick Joseph McGowan, M.Econ.Sc., of the Economic Division of the Central Bank of Ireland, who was leaving for the United States on the 13th as the Ford International Fellow for Ireland for 1962, was wished success in his studies by The U.S. Ambassador and members of An Bord Seolaireachtai Comalairte. Picture shows: Mr Patrick McGowan chatting with His Excellency Matthew McCloskey (centre) U.S. Ambassador to Ireland. Mr McGowan would leave from Cobh to spend a year at Princeton University, U.S.A. as Ford International Fellow for Ireland 1962.
