Detail from the Battistero di San Giovanni (Florence Baptistery). The baptistery Considered a minor basilica, and is a religious building in Florence, Italy. It is in the Florentine Romanesque style, and was built between 1059 and 1128, making it one of the oldest buildings in the city. 3 sets of bronze doors with relief sculptures are on the exterior. The south doors created by Andrea Pisano, and the east and north doors by Lorenzo Ghiberti. Here we see some of the embellishments around the main panels, including portraits of the artist, saints and religious images.
