Sarcophagus of Harkhebi. Dynasty 26 (664-525 B.C.) From Saqqara. Basalt. This massive sarcophagus lay inside a huge limestone box at the bottom of a square pit some 50 ft deep. Into it was placed the wooden coffin containing Harkhebi's mummy.
