First Dublin Road Bowling Tournament. (R99)..1989..03.04.1989..04.03.1989..3rd April 1989..The first Dublin road bowling tournament, sponsored by AIB and run by Bol Chumann Na hÉireann, in aid of Cerebral Palsy Ireland. It will take place in the Phoenix Park on Sunday 14th May 1989. This was announced at a reception in the Phoenix Park..The rout of the tournament will be from Mountjoy Crossing through The Whitefields Road to the Phoenix Monument and back the Straight Road to the finishing line at mountjoy Crossing, a distance of two miles..Armagh and Cork will challenge each other for a new Perpetual Trophy "Super Bol"...Image shows World Champion bowler,Bill Daly, Cork,teaching Mr Norman Cairns, Chairman, Cerebral Palsy Ireland, some of the skills necessary to take part in road bowling.
