A Snowcovered Lansdowne Road..1985..18.01.1985..01.18.1985..18th January 1985..Picture shows a snowcovered Lansdowne Road Stadium. Due to a heavy overnight snowfall the Rugby International between Ireland and England had to be cancelled. Not only was the pitch unplayable, the stands and terracing posed a serious risk to the health and safety of the expected crowd. The game was refixed for March and Ireland went on to win 13 - 10. This win secured The Triple Crown,.only a 15-15 draw with France prevented the Grand Slam.
