The top of Nelson's Pillar in O'Connell Street was destroyed by a bomb in the early hours of the morning. The area around the remains is cordened off by police while workmen clear the rubble. On the left is the G.P.O. where the Irish Republic was proclaimed in 1916..08.03.1966
