The Irish Mercy Ship Columcille sails out of Dublin for Biafra.

With her cargo of 600 tonnes of foodstuff, drugs and blankets for famine ridden Biafra, the Irish mercy ship Columcille sails out of Dublin, with Captain P. O'Saeghdha in command and a crew of 12, among which is a seaman priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Fitzgibbon, the Limerick born Holy Ghost Father, who has volunteered as third engineer on the vessel.
Captain Paudraig O'Seaghdha bids farewell to his daughters before the ship sails.
