Viking Longboat on the Liffey.
Viking Longboat on the Liffey. (R91).1988..24.11.1988..11.24.1988..24th November 1988..As part of The Millennium celebrations in Dublin a Viking Longboat sailed up the Liffey and moored at O'Connell Bridge. As Dublin had its own Viking settlement at Wood Quay, Viking and Dublin history is intrinsically linked. The finding of the settlement at Wood Quay indicates that the City of Dublin actually started from this point...Image shows the Viking Longboat in all its glory moored in the Liffey at O'Connell Street Bridge.
