President Eamon de Valera presents prizes at Aras an Uachtarain. The President presented the prizes to the winners of competitions for schoolchildren organised by the Golden Jubilee 1916 Committee. The winners from schools all over Ireland competed in competitions for essays and poetry in Irish and English. Picture shows President de Valera presenting 2st prize of £30 in competition of original poem in English (under18) to Karola Grimmer, Mount Argus, Sydney Park, Cork, a pupil of Scoil Mhuire, Sydney Place, Cork.
