Irish Soldiers Bodies Returned From Lebanon. (R99)..1989..24.03.1989..03.24.1989..24th March 1989..While serving on the peacekeeping mission with the UN three Irish soldiers lost their lives when the vehicle they were in struck a land mine. The mine had ben planted by a Hezbollah Group who were targeting the Israeli military. The Soldiers; Corp Fintan Heneghan, Pte Mannix Armstrong and Pte Thomas Walshe were serving with C Company, 64th Infantry Batallion in Brashit, Sth Lebanon...Image shows one of the hearses departing the mortuary in Dublin Airport on its way to Arbour Hill Church.
