John Bright (1811-1889) British radical orator and statesman, born in Rochdale, Lancashire of Quaker parents. First elected as a Member of Parliament in 1843. Supported the Anti-Corn Law League, and the Reform Act of 1867. Cartoon by 'Ape' (Carlo Pellegrini - 1838-1889) from 'Vanity Fair' (London, 13 February 1869). Chromolithograph.
