Claus Schenk, Graf von Stauffenberg (1907-1944) German aristocrat and military officer, carried and placed the bomb used in the failed attempt to assassinate Hitler at Wolfsschanze on 20 July 1944. He was shot on the night of 20-21 July 1944.
