We love our Irish pubs but we of course have seen an indigineous decline resulting in closures nationwide in recent years.
Not such a picture worldwide where the Irish pub is a growing business success story.
Hence a global event and webcast in Dublin next week, called Irish Pubs Global Gathering Event in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, on September 29 to October 1st, backed by LVA and VFI.
Spurred on by The Irish Diaspora Global Forum in Dublin Castle 2 years ago, Irish entrepreneur Enda O Coineen has spearheaded www.irishpubsglobal.com into a global network with 20 chapters around the world and a database of over 4,000 REAL Irish pubs.
It promises to be a stimulating conference, with speakers bringing a worldwide perspective to the event. The Irish Pubs Global Gathering Event is a unique networking, learning and social gathering. A dynamic three-day programme bringing together Irish Pub owners & managers from all over the world and will focus on 'The Next Generation' of Irish pubs.
