Royal Visit to Ireland by Princess Grace and Prince Rainier of Monaco. The Royal couple at the Gresham Hotel, O'Connell Street, Dublin. Around 350 Gardai were overwhelmed by a crowd estimated by the Glasgow Herald as 20,000 strong, that surged around the Princess's car. Many people had to be treated by ambulance men and 12 were taken to hospital. The Royal couple were at the hotel for a ball and banquet in connection with the International Music Festival being held in Dublin.
