The main portal doors from the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, (more commonly called the 'Duomo'). Florence, Italy. Three huge bronze doors, adorned with scenes from the life of Madonna. They date from 1899 to 1903. Around the doors are multiple works of art: Mosaics by Niccolò Barabino, a half-relief by Tito Sarrocchi, and a series of niches and busts. The duomo was started in 1296 based on Arnolfo di Cambio's design, but was not complete until 1436 when Filippo Brunelleschi engineered the dome. One of Italy's largest churches.
