Casket about 1360, possibly by Simone dei Crocifissi (1330-99). The painting on the front of this casket shows the Baptism of Christ. The coat of arms is that of a bishop, a member of the Baisi family of Bologna. Caskets of this sort were used to store valuable items such as ecclesiastical rings.
