Presentation of Harp to President DeValera..1972..29.12.1972..12.29.1972..29th December 1972..Mrs Julia Fennell presented a harp to President DeValera as a gift to Áras an Uachtaráin. She presented the harp on behalf of her late husband Mr Thomas J Fennell and herself..The harp was manufactured in 1835 at the firm of Robinson and Russell,westmoreland Street,Dublin. the harp is 36ins high and has 33 strings. It will be retained in an exhibition case bearing the inscription "Tomas O'Fionnghaill agus Sile Ui Fhionnghail,Baile Atha Cliath, a bhronn ar Áras an Uachtaráin,1972".(Presented to Áras an Uachtaráin by Thomas and Julia Fennell,Dublin 1972)..Image shows President DeValera accepting the harp from Mrs Julia Fennell who was accompanied by her daughters Dr Geraldine Fennell and Ms Rosemary Fennell.
