"Atlantic Challenge" the new IR£6million supertrawler,the flag ship of the Irish fishing fleet arrived at Killybegs today. The vessel was built for Killybegs' Enterprises in Bergen,Norway. Killybegs' Enterprises also have "Western Viking"."Jasper Sea" and"Silver King"supertrawlers in their fleet.
The vessel will be skippered by Mr Martin Howley who originally trained with B.I.M.s National Fishery Training Centre, Greencastle.
The company plans to fish for non-quota stocks such as Blue Whiting and Horse Mackerel,her fishing pattern will lessen dependence on mackerel as quotas are low for the Irish fleet.
