The ski slope is Irelands only artificial ski slope..The skiers were practicing for their holidays in colder climates. The Ski Club of Ireland was founded in 1963 and a few years later ran its first slope in Knockrabo in Mount Anville, Goatstown, south Co. Dublin..In the mid 1970's the Club moved from the suburbs to its current location in Kilternan.
