Bellerephon and Chimaera. Riding Pegasus, Bellerephon raises his sword over Chimaera. The beast takes the form of a lioness with a snake for a tail, and a goat emerging from the back. Such plaques as this were used to decorate wooden chests. Terracotta plaque made on Melos about 450 BC
